65% of the fresh vegetable export from Israel and about 13% of the cut flowers comes from the Arava where the most advanced farming methods are used.
A reason to visit!

The Arava valley stretches from the Dead Sea to the Red Sea and is part of the Syro-African rift, and much of the region is below sea level.
In the center of this valley lies the Central Arava, between the Edom mountains and the hills of the Negev.
In the Central Arava are seven settlements , five of them are agricultural settlements (called moshavim), with a total of 2,700 residents.
The five moshavim are Idan, Hazeva, Ein Yahav, Tsofar and Faran, which contain a total of 460 active farms.
The regional center is Sapir, with about 140 families.

The climate is arid, with only about 30 mm of rainfall annually (this year 20mm).
The water in the Arava is supplied by local wells.
